I unfortunately have been the target of a con man myself. This one swindled over $60000 out of my husband and I over the course of 4 years through the art of expectation. Fortunately after you go through it a few times with the same person you do figure out that he's a sh!thead. Problem is, I think she actually cares for you. Poor woman. She'll probably let you stay about 3 months after your lie shows up.
In my opinion, she's kind of using the game Russian Roulette as a symbol of her life.
